Maybe the richest French region ! There is everything in Normandy.

First of all Normany has a fantastic history. You can visit the castles of William the conqueror in

Falaise or Caen.

The Bayeux tapestry (UNESCO site) will tell you how he took over England after the battle of Hastings (1066).

In medieval times Rouen was the second city of the Kingdom. Its cathedral and half timbered houses are magnificent.

Natural sites are also wonderful.

That is why so many artists decided to travel or settle in Normandy to paint the  beautiful landscapes and try to catch the extraordinary light.

Giverny was the base of Claude Monet. His garden is among the most beautiful in the world. The port of Honfleur is also very charming.

The normandy bocage is picturesque. However it complicated the progression of Allied troops during World War 2.

The discovery of the Normandy beaches (Sword, Gold, Juno, Omaha and Utah) is always very

moving.

Traveling alone allows for introspection, study but also allows you to reach out to others more easily. In the age of artificial intelligence, I like contact with others without technology. What a pleasure to see faces light up when you try to jabber in their language. Learning a language also means discovering another culture. Trying to practice it is showing respect. I often say this to my travelers, when we travel we are a bit of an ambassador for our country.

It is good to travel to meet new people but also to experience unforgettable moments with loved ones. Recently, I crossed part of Patagonia on horseback with my children. We will always remember our adventures with Sarko, Polenta & Gringa.
